This is a weld it yourself DIY front winch bumper kit. It is designed for even a novice or beginner welder to be able to complete themselves. Or take it to a buddy or shop and still come in under the price of a completed bumper. All the parts are tabbed and slotted so that takes the guess work out of fitment. And yes frame reinforcement brackets are included so you can feel free to abuse these as much as you want.
Hoop tubing options are available. The tubing comes with square cut ends and will need to be fitted to the bumper as the owner sees fit. This allows you to angle the tubing to your individual preferences and keep costs as low as possible. The tubing is true 1.75" x .120 wall. Its not pipe like other manufacturers use.
This kit is designed to be a bare bones DIY kit for a mechanically inclined person to weld together themselves for much cheaper and shorter lead time than any other bumper on the market.
Winch fitment depends on winch model and not guaranteed. (you may have to relocate the winch solenoid). I know for a fact the bumper fits a Warn 9.5 and it also fits the very large Badlands Apex 12,000 lb with minor modifications to the vertical radiator support so most winches should fit.
Fog light holes are 4" diameter.
Please note 2010+ FJ models will benefit from a windshield washer reservoir relocation kit to hide the exposed reservoir. Compatible with body lifts up to 1/2".
I'm offering two options for material type.
Standard Steel:
The regular carbon steel is a great low cost option. The industry standard 3/16" thick steel kit after welding weighs about 85 lbs flat top, 93 lbs single hoop, and 103 lbs triple hoop.
Hardened Steel:
I'm also offering hardened steel which is something I have never seen for production armor offerings. This is AR450 grade hardened carbon steel material and is literally what they make bulletproof shooting targets out of. The main benefit is I can make it thinner (1/8") and stronger, which saves you on shipping costs AND comes in 23 lbs lighter than my standard bumper while still being 3.5 times stronger than 3/16" steel. It welds exactly the same as regular steel so no adjustments are necessary. This bumper quite possibly has the best strength to weight ratio of any other on the market.
